History

The casino is one of the oldest casinos in Las Vegas since it was originally constructed in 1946. Jackie Gaughan and Steve Wynn, the casino mogul, were among the earliest owners of the casino.

In May 2000, it was sold to Kirk Kerkorian with the consolidated corporation known as MGM Mirage, among the largest casino corporations. In 2004, it was sold to Poster Financial Group, a company owned by Thomas Breitling and Timothy Poster. In September 2005, the sale to Landry’s, Inc. became official with the owners embarking on a wide-scale expansion project.

What they are Famous for

The buffet is not just known for its impressive array of buffet favorites but also for its live coking stations and unlimited portions (i.e., no limits on portions). Fresh fruits and vegetables are featured alongside sweet desserts and savory dishes inspired by Asian, Italian, and American cuisines.

Why Dine Here

The buffet at the Golden Nugget follows the time-honored Las Vegas all-you-can-eat buffets and, thus, it features a wide variety of dishes and desserts for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The non-smoking buffet features international cuisines offered at live-action cooking stations in a spacious area with a casual yet elegant ambiance.

Aside from the usual offerings, diners can also enjoy the specials, such as the champagne brunch on Sundays and the Seafood & More buffet. With a great view of the complex, dining here can be so relaxing, a must to rejuvenate the mind and body for the fun times at the casino.

The wait staff are well-trained in the delivery of outstanding service – you and your group will be shown to your preferred table, asked for your drinks orders, and informed about the buffet selections including the specials for the day.

Of course, the food and drinks selections are amazing! You have the opportunity to sample – or indulge, whatever your mood may be – a huge selection of ready-to-eat salads, pastas, and vegetables as well as several cuts of meat. You will be impressed by the mix of Italian, Asian, Mexican, and Mediterranean stations, even a Soul Food station and deli bar with a fresh selection of cheeses.

Other things to love about the buffet are the cleanliness and spaciousness of the dining area, as well as the calm vibe that makes for a pleasant dining experience each and every time.
